It has been such an eventful week since I arrived in Seoul: eating delicious food, visiting both new and familiar places, and making new friends!
Day One: Arriving in Seoul
Arriving at the Incheon Airport with three of my other friends (Jason, Ryan, and Jonathan who are studying abroad at Chung-Ang University) on Thursday, August 22, 2019, I was definitely giddy with joy and excitement for the semester ahead! In order to save myself the hassle of several luggages, I stuffed my items into one backpack carry-on and one suitcase. I stuffed the suitcase with another suitcase so that I have one empty luggage to fill up when I leave.
My friends and I rented an apartment in Itaewon via AirBnb for the entirety of the semester abroad, paying around $2,400 overall which is notably cheaper than dorming at my home university! Everything was provided in the cost: laundry machine and dryer, bathroom toiletries, shampoo and conditioner, Wi-Fi, etc. Just be sure to book your AirBnb in advance to secure the best options prior to leaving abroad! In addition, the owner rented a taxi to pick us up from the airport and drive us to the house for free! 😍
Day Two: Light Shopping + Heavy Food
My friends and I headed to Myeongdong to do some basic shopping, hitting places like A-land for skincare, Uniqlo for clothes, and Osulloc for tea. We also met up with our other Hawai'i friends we came earlier and would be studying at Yonsei University. Afterwards, we met with Natasha's aunt since she wanted to welcome us to Korea, eating delicious Korean barbecue for dinner. Lastly, Michelle, Natasha and I decided to end the night at Sinchon for dessert at Sulbing, a Korean shaved ice place!

Day Three: Artistic Shots
Starting off my third day in Seoul, I met up with Natasha, Michelle, and Michelle's roommate, Lisa, and her friend, Le An. We explored around the Hongdae area, watching some busking performances, visiting artistic shops, and drinking coffee at a flower cafe. Afterwards, we met up with the boiz and headed to another artistic place called Common Ground. Lots of tourists and locals head there to take nice pictures in front of the cargo-looking building. We also checked out the shops this place had inside the building. Lastly, we headed to Gangnam to the Coex Mall with the Starfield Library and SMTown. Then, we ended the day with Cry Cheese Burger. This day was full of walking and sightseeing, so I was completely tired by the end of the day.
