"Cheap but Good Vibes" | Korea Music Festival

On August 2, 2018, Andy and I went to Gocheok Sky Dome for the second day of Korea Music Festival.

Right after school after eating our favorite dessert: 설빙 (Sulbing), we headed to Gocheok Sky Dome around 3:00 pm to pick up our tickets. We bought our VERY CHEAP tickets on kstar.tv for 9,900 ₩ during the ticket sales period; we wanted to go to the first day because the lineup was super bomb with iKon, TWICE, MAMAMOO, Wanna One, and KARD. However, we were unable to buy tickets because the Wi-Fi was spotty outside: it was during the Sik-K performance in Hongdae, so we couldn't secure tickets for that day. Despite that, we were able to get tickets to the second day for really cheap, costing less than ten dollars!

Once we got our tickets, we immediately went in and sat down in the top section near the center of the arena. The entire festival lasted about seven hours with opening acts, a flower carpet ceremony, and later performances. We saw musical performances from ACE, Chung Ha, EXID, N.Flying, MOMOLAND, NCT 127, BTOB, and SHINee. Each artist performed about three songs each for their act. The entire audience was filled with NCT, BTOB, and SHINee lightsticks, so those artists' performances were totally filled with screaming fans and fan chants. Our seats were surrounding BTOB fans, so it was crazy loud and entertaining during their songs!

Afterwards since we didn't eat for that full seven hours, we went to a 부대찌개 (budaejjigae) restaurant. 부대찌개 is basically called "army stew" with all different types of meat (spam, ham, sausage), ramen noodles, kimchi, 떡 (ddeok: rice cake), and other ingredients. At this certain restaurant, we got a 21,000 ₩ set that served two people. Overall, it was a great day full of music and vibes!
